The program currently serves Amana, Oxford, Tiffin, Williamsburg, Marengo, Belle Plaine, Ladora, Victor, Brooklyn, and surrounding areas. AYSO registration is open year round, and the program currently has 400 players and over 100 volunteers. Fall games start after Labor Day, and the spring season is complete prior to memorial day. In addition to the primary program, the Region also offers a VIP program for players with physical or mental disabilities, a U-05 program specifically designed to introduce 4 year old kids to soccer and team sports, and many opportunities for tournament play for all ages in the off season. We offer an indoor program in Amana in the winter, in addition to opportunities to participate in indoor leagues in Cedar Rapids. We offer inter-regional game opportunities at the Tuma Soccer Complex (about 6 - 8 per season) for age U10 - U14 children to provide a more competitive environment for the more dedicated players. Starting NEW in 2015 we will be starting a U13 Girls Select team to compete in ISL play throughout Eastern Iowa, and expect to start additional Select teams at other levels in the future. If you would like more information, contact Tim Riggle at email@example.com, or visit the regional website at www.ayso1103.com.
The CCA Youth Volleyball Clinic will be held in August this year. A four week clinic similar to previous years’ clinics will be offered for any girl or boy starting 4th through 6th grade. After these four weeks, participants will have the option to continue through September by playing in games against teams from other schools at the Williamsburg Recreational Center on Sundays in September.
Complete details will be available this summer. Because the clinic will start before school does, we are gathering contact information for interested students so that we can send registration information out this summer. If you would like to be on the contact list for registration, please contact Alyssa Plathe at 622-5176, 319-350-1583 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Parents of children currently in 4th and 5th grade - if you plan to have your child participate in YSF football in the fall and would consider being an assistant coach contact me, Trevor Bollers, Youth Football Coordinator at email@example.com. We have many assistant coaches leaving the program with their 6th graders so we need many new volunteers we need to hear from you asap about your interest for the following reasons:
I look forward to hearing from many of you who are excited to help out.
- Coaches have to be trained prior to working with YSF youth. The first training session is February 6th in Waterloo, sponsored by the Youth Sports Foundation.
- I will be sharing training videos and our program specific training information which is important, especially the way we teach tackling.
- I will be sharing important dates including equipment checkout and registration where we would need the assistance of volunteer coaches.
- Practices start in mid-August and will run until mid-October. Games are held on Sundays, starting in early September and last six weeks.
Please download the participate mobile app www.goparticipate.com and follow CCAYSF for important updates.
