- Qualifications for Teachers
Parents/guardians in the Clear Creek Amana School District have the right to learn about the following regarding their child’s teacher’s qualifications: special endorsements for grade levels/subject area taught, and baccalaureate/graduate certification degree. Parents/guardians may request this information from the office of the superintendent by calling 828-4510 and asking for Carol or sending a letter or request to PO Box 487, Oxford, IA 52322.
- Asbestos Information
This notice is for all parents, employees, and patrons of the Clear Creek Amana school district.
The middle school in Tiffin, the elementary school in Amana and the elementary in Oxford, all contain some asbestos. The asbestos is maintained under a management plan. The management plan was prepared by CHART Services Inc. following an inspection of the school conducted in 1992. The plan is available for review in the office of each building by making an appointment with the building secretary.
Part of the plan includes a six-month period inspection by the district’s designated person. The designated person in each building is the building engineer.
- Open Enrollment Guidelines
Parents or guardians considering the use of the open enrollment option to enroll their children in another public school district in the state of Iowa should be aware of the following dates: March 1, 2013 the last date for regular open enrolled requests for the 2013-14 school year. A student entering kindergarten must file the application prior to September 1, 2013.
A pupil who transfers school districts under open enrollment in all grades 10-12 shall not be eligible to participate in interscholastic contests and competitions during the first 90 days of transfer. Parents/guardians of open enrolled students whose income falls below 160 percent of the federal poverty guidelines are eligible for transportation assistance.

- Non-sufficient Funds Checks
The school district will assess A $20 fee for each check returned for non-sufficient funds. If payment for the NSF check plus the fee is not made, the district will not accept personal checks for the remainder of the school year.
