topFrequently Asked Questions

Where will the new buildings be located?

• The district acquired 55 acres of land west of the current high school in 2002. This land will be used to build the new high school.

• The district was given 16 acres of land in North Liberty that will be used to site the new elementar school at the corner of Kansas Avenue and 270th Street.
When will the new schools open?

• The new elementary school is scheduled to open at the start of the 2008 school year.

• The new high school is scheduled to open at the start of the 2009 school year.

Are there any additional revenue sources?
  • The district successfully applied for state grant funds that provided an additional $500,000 for the new elementary school. The 2006 bond referendum provided the required local match to secure this grant.

• In addition to the gift of land for the new elementary school, the City of North Liberty extended sewer and water connections at no cost, provided a paved street extension on Kansas Ave., and will provide paving along 270th St. in front of the school site prior to the school opening in
2008. These combined land and development gifts provided the CCA district an estimated cost savings of $500,000.

• The City of North Liberty has also offered the CCA CSD a $500,000 contribution to build an expanded gym (additional 4000 sq. ft.) in return for shared use of the gym after school hours, on weekend
and during the summer. This gift is contingent upon the district and the city entering into a shared
