  • In honor of Iowa Ready Mixed Concrete Association (IRMCA) long-time employee, Jerry Woods, who retired on December 2013, the IRMCA Board of Directors has established the Jerry Woods IRMCA Scholarship. This scholarship will be offered to a qualified student who is or will be pursuing a major course of study in the building trades or related industry. The scholarship recipient will attend, or plan to attend, a local Iowa community college. Applications are available in the guidance office. 
  • The Altrussa Club of Iowa City has Three $1,000 scholarships available to seniors that have done community service. Applications are in the guidance office. Due date is April 18th.
  • The Adam J. Bohr Family Scholarship in association with the McClure Engineering Company application is now available in the guidance office. This scholarship is for $2,000 and is for any North Liberty area graduating senior intending to major in Engineering. Deadline is April 25th.
  • St. Peter's Catholic Church  Knights of Columbus scholarship application is available in the guidance office. Two $500 scholarships will be awarded, one to a member of St. Peter's and one to a member of St. Mary's parish. Application deadline is April 2nd.
  • The new Booster club scholarship form is available in the guidance office. It is due by April 2nd.
  • The Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce has released applications for the 2014 Outstanding Farm Youth Scholarship. Applications are available in the Guidance office. The application deadline is April 14th.
  • The Grand Commandery of the KnightsTemplar will be awarding five 2,000 scholarships. Deadline is March 31st. The application is available in the guidance office.
  • Th Iowa City Area Association of Realtors will award one $2,000 and one $1,000 and four $500 scholarship based primarily on community service to graduating seniors. Application deadline is April 4th and materials are available in the guidance office
  • Each year, the Agribusiness/Bioscience Committee offers the Outstanding Farm Youth Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to two graduating high school seniors. The application is brief (3 questions) and is due April 14.  All applicants will then participate in a brief interview (no more than 30 minutes) with members of the Committee.  Applications are available in the Guidance office.
  • Iowa Central Community College is adding a Men's and Women's Sports shooting team. This new program will also offer scholarships for Sports Shooting. Information is available in the guidance office.
  • The Leo H. Grether Memorial Scholarship Is now available in the guidance office. This scholarship is intended for Vocal Music Education majors.
  • The Winter Dance Party Scholarship is now available in the guidance office. This scholarship is available to any graduating senior that will be enrolling as a music major.
  • CCA sent a team of 4 students to the State Science Bowl on Saturday.  The team consisted of Miles Lucas, Bailey Mooney, Albin Larsson-Forsburg and Aaron Peterson.  The team went undefeated in morning pool play and went 2-2 in the afternoon rounds losing to former champions Ames High School and Home Schools of Eastern Iowa.  Their top ten finish was the highest ever for CCA and the students represented themselves and the school very well.
  • The Iowa PGA is offering the Charlie Burkart , $1,000 , renewable scholarship to graduating seniors. Applications are available in the guidance office. Winners are selected upon their interest and activity in golf and academic contributions
  • The Johnson County Farm Bureau Scholarship application is now available in the guidance office. You must be a son or daughter of a Johnson County Farm Bureau member to apply. Further info can be found at johnson.county@ifbf.org.
  • Graduating seniors that will attend an accredited Iowa college or university and have shown outstanding ability in one or more of the following areas: music dance, literature, theatre, traditional or visual arts, are encourage to apply for the Iowa Scholarship for the Arts. Application materials and guidelines can be found at www.iowaartscouncil.org.
  • Any senior planning to attend UNI next fall should stop in the guidance office regarding possible scholarships.

  • Seniors planning to attend Iowa, Iowa State or Northern iowa: the Dale Schroeder memorial Scholarship is available to you if you meet the following:
    2.8 cumulative G.P.A.
    Reside in a town with a population between 1,000 – 10,000 residents
    Are a legal resident of the state of Iowa

  • The Herbert Hoover Uncommon Student Award guidelines are now available in the guidance office. This award is project based and is open to Juniors (11th graders). Project proposals are submitted and judged and 15 students will receive $1,000 and 3 will receive $5,000 toward the college education of their choice.   • The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois Scholarships Program is now accepting applications from graduating high school seniors seeking funding for post-secondary education. 
    HOW TO APPLY:
    Beginning October 1, 2013, students may apply online. Graduating high school seniors residing in one of the counties listed below may only apply for the RMHC®/Scholars Scholarship. Applicants will be notified of scholarship award status by June 30, 2014. The deadline for the 2014 academic year is January 21, 2014, and all mailed back-up documents must be postmarked by the same date.
  • Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants are pleased to be able to continue with our scholarship program for the 7th year. We will be awarding up to $1,000 to the winner(s) each year. Scholarship Deadline   -  June 14, 2014.

  • Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarship for High School Seniors
    The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors each year. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, and their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. It is our privilege to award over $3 million annually in scholarships to these young leaders.

  • Ronald McDonald House Charities announces its U.S. Scholarship Program. Students that are exemplary role models and are graduating this year should visit www.rmhc.org for information or apply at https://aim.applyists.net/RMHC. Application deadline is January 21st 2014.
  • The Mercy Hospital Health Career Scholarship application is available in the guidance office. Any senior student interested in a health related field is eligible. This scholarship is for $1,000 amid is renewable for up to four years. 
  • The Pearl Hull Falk scholarship application is available in the guidance office this is a $400 scholarship for students that will attend the University of Iowa and are of the Protestant faith.
  • Students that have or have had an IEP during high school that are planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college/university are eligible for the TBS scholarship. Application materials are available in the guidance office or with your Learning Strategies instructor. Application deadline is December 1st.
  • The 2014 john F Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest is now open. For information and registration visit jfklibrary.org.

  • The Grand Masonic Lodge of Iowa will award over 50 $2,000 scholarships to students attending 2 year and 4 year colleges and technical/trade schools for 2014 graduating seniors. Application are available in the guidance office or at http://grandlodgeofiowa.org/
  • The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine will present a mini medical school program, "The Future of Human Reproduction." Mini Medical School is designed for adults or anyone over the age of 16. It is a great opportunity if you are interested in genetics, medicine or STEM education in general. The program will be the evening of October 17th at the Medical Education and Research facility on the UI campus.   • Another Nutter Butter Peanut Butter Scholarship,  The Young Entrepreneurs Foundation is offering scholarship from $1,000-$!0,000 to students that have started their own business. Information is available at www.NFIB.com/YEA starting October 1st.
  • Students that plan to attend Iowa State next fall should stop in the guidance office for several scholarships opportunities and deadlines.
  • The University of Northern Iowa will host its annual Business Freshman Scholarship Day on January 24th 2014. This competition is by invitation only. Students that intend to attend UNI and major in business and have an ACT composite of 27 or higher are eligible to apply. Students should go to www.uni.edu./finaid

    3. Choose the login "I need to create an account" and follow the directions
    4. At the "Start" tab choose "Business" (at the bottom of the page
    5. Under the "Business" addendum follow all the directions toe the CBA Freshman Scholarship
    6. When the application is completed click the "finish" tab. Be sure to have your transcript mailed of faxed.
